Cycling & mountain biking
Gapençais Valleys Cycling Area
As the site of the Tour de France’s Grand Départ and legendary stages, our region is a natural playground for road cyclists. From Alpine passes to winding roads and long straight stretches deep in the valleys, every pedal stroke here tells a story of cycling.
We offer a variety of routes, ranging from the plains to the high mountains, suitable for all skill levels: from leisurely family rides to the climbs that have forged the legend of the great mountain passes of the Hautes-Alpes.
Whether you’re seeking the thrill of a legendary mountain pass, a rolling loop to ride with friends, or a long journey through the Provençal and mountainous landscapes of the Gapençais region, you’ll find your perfect route here.
The bonus: a region at the crossroads of the major cycling routes of the Southern Alps, the perfect starting point for exploring the Izoard, the Agnel, or the Route Napoléon.
